Homo Sapiens -Our Future

Image
Let us start off with this article by asking ourselves a question. How would humans look like a hundred thousands years from today??????Other than the ‘2012’ fans I think most of us would agree on a figure straight out of an alien movie! There would be an imaginative few who would add some innovative exoskeletons and tails, other people modest enough might suggest that we would look just like humpty-dumpty,but I am certain that a big head and a crooked posture would simply be a chartbuster. The reasoning is supported by the idea that human today do more mental work than physical. But could we all be wrong??? Atleast the big brain theory is.The fossil record of skull sizes over the past several thousand generations shows that our days of rapid increase in brain size are long over!!So we have no big head is in store for us for the future   and   a major physical reshuffle is also unlikely.Does that actually mean that we have stopped evolving? No, not so.Scientistssay on the basi...

Introvert-so what??

Image
Why do we become so judgemental when it comes to people who are introverts?????Why are such the ones who have to be disregarded constantly??? Afterall, being introverts is a normal personality preference and not a disability or a disease. However, such people are a minority hence others do not recognize this trait;it becomes difficult for them to keep up with the world dominated by the so called ‘extroverts’.The significant thing which one needs to understand is that they choose to be on their own as they want their own space.. Introverts don’t particularly   lead an unhappy life.Especially the college life which is expected to   be the most fun filled years of a person’s life, burdens them with the psychological load of peer pressure..Introverts   seem to be lonely, but deep down they live in their own woven world. They may be homesick, missing their familiar friends, family and places. In this case ,some new friends and for sure some new experi...

River in space

Image
Scientists in NASA have discovered a extra-terrestial river system in Saturn’s moon titan which resembles Nile and is said to be a miniature version of Nile. The river has a length of more than 400 kilometres.   In comparison the Nile river has a length of about 6700 kilometres.  Titan is the only other body in this solar system apart from Earth to have a cycle of liquids on its surface. The liquids in titan are mainly composed of hydrocarbons which includes methane and ethane.

A brush with the real paradise

It was nearly year and a half since I last visited Kashmir . I   was in search of a good reason and as luck would have it, we were granted a month’s vacation .Those days my dad was posted in kupwara ,a remote town in northern Kashmir.I persuaded him to let me stretch my legs there and luckily he agreed.Soon I was out of Bengal and was touching the last strains of Delhi. Two hours later and a flight ,I was stepping on the pavement of Srinagar airport.I was welcomed by an army officer who escorted me to a bullet proof car which was headed by a mobile radar jammer,QRT(Quick Response Team) and three heavily armoredjawans on top! I was   soon heading towards Kupwara,my holiday home.It was ,and still   is,one of the hot beds of all counter-insurgency operations.Moments   flew by and we were zipping past picturesque towns of the valley and several apple orchards. One could easily identify the uniqueness and distinct panache of the natives and the Pathan suit lad...

Teenage Dream

Image
No! No! I am not about to say anything on the Katy Perry’s music album. Every teen try to have their own secrets that they try to keep along with them. They trust their secrets with only those whom they blindly trust. In most cases, teens most trusted people are their friends from schools This stage in a boy or girls life is the transitional stage of psychological and physical development in the route to adulthood. In most case we see a difference in cultural expression which sometimes can be lethal. The end of teens and the beginning of adulthood makes an impression in the society, where the entrust them with different milestones, may it be your driving license or your right to vote. Teenage accompanies increased independence from parents’ and guardian’s supervision. Some people argue that adolescence is entirely a social invention, and that the way in which we divide the life cycle into stages is nothing more than a reflection of the political, economic and social circumstance...
